Karoline Barwinski
Karoline Barwinski is a Program Manager for the Sustainability and Health Initiative for NetPositive Enterprise (SHINE) at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. In her role, she leads SHINE’s communications and strategy and manages projects across the program. Karoline is helping integrate a greater focus on worker health and well-being in the workplace through evidence-based research.
Karoline brings with her a strong foundation in corporate sustainability and responsible investing. Her experience as a sustainability analyst led her to embrace the importance of worker well-being in company analysis and investment valuation. Her passion is exploring workplace health and employee well-being in the context of corporate sustainability, believing that a healthy, engaged, productive, and supported employee-base is vital to a successful enterprise.
Before SHINE, Karoline worked as an environment, social, and governance (ESG) analyst at ClearBridge Investments, an asset management firm with a leading ESG investment program. She came to SHINE upon moving to Boston and took the opportunity to align her career with a developing passion for well-being. She loves discovering the changes we can make in our environment and culture – at work, at home, and in our communities – to reach our health and well-being potential, and ultimately thrive as human beings. She gets to live her passion through the research SHINE is focused on.
Karoline received a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University where she concentrated in Global Business and Finance and specialized in sustainability and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Emory University. Outside of SHINE, Karoline practices and teaches yoga, and loves exploring the world through travel, cooking, dancing, and spending time outdoors with her family and friends.
